Mindfield is located in Detroit, Michigan. We regularly work across North America and our work has taken us around the world. Our satellite office in Los Angeles is home to one of our talented creative directors, which extends our collaborative capabilities to the west coast.
What makes Mindfield a unique creative studio? Our humble beginnings and experience growing the business as our clients have grown theirs. It started in 2000 when the three partners, then successful freelancers, founded Mindfield as a production company taking an innovative approach to video and live engagement production. Their work caught on with advertising and event marketers and the business took off. The core team quickly grew to include producers, video editors, motion graphic artists, interactive developers and customer service specialists. Today, we design and produce high quality videos for broadcast and online channels, big screens, interactive experiences and live engagements, all grounded in our deep experience and successful collaborative relationships.
Executive Producer / Partner
With the exception of a few years spent on both coasts, David has always proudly called Detroit home. He began his career in film production soon after graduating from Emerson College traveling around the world producing commercials and content. In addition to advertising, David produced programming content for broadcast television including a golf series for Fox Sports Network. David has successfully managed projects from thunderous fighter jets on aircraft carriers to stampeding herds of stallions in the deserts of Utah. David is also part of the development team that recently rehabilitated the Grand Army of the Republic building in Detroit; the G.A.R. is now the home of Mindfield. When not busy with all of that, David listens to too much Beatles music and likes to travel with his family.
Director / Partner
After graduating from university, Tom worked in Pittsburgh for a start up production company. That’s where he gained an entrepreneurial hunger in the creative world. He then returned to Detroit, where he teamed up with auto industry creatives. After years of work on film sets, Tom began to direct in 1995. Tom prides himself on delivering quality creative and production to clients who increasingly present the challenge of great work. He's worked with top brands like Ford, Toyota, and Health Plus.
Post-Production Director / Partner
Sean is the heart and soul of our post department, always has been. A creative batman with abundant knowledge of cutting edge technology and software, his passion for creativity was honed during his studies as an English major. His professional experience led him to not only writing but exploring film editing, motion design, augmented reality and interactive engagements. His roster of clients have been Ford, Lincoln, St. Jude, Onstar and Toyota. In his spare time he's jet skiing the Persian Gulf, parachuting out of airplanes and racing high performance vehicles on cruel and unusual tracks… or at the very least, hoping to.
Director of Operations
Joe is a native Detroiter whose start in the business began as an apprentice learning Advertising Typography at the Thos P Henry Company. This interest then led him to a career in and around the advertising, marketing, and studio services industries. This varied career has allowed him to have his hands in just about every aspect of this business. At Doner Advertising, he pioneered the development of in-house post-production as part of their creative offerings. He has extensive experience in leading teams developing national and international branded content. These distinctions along with his comprehension of business strategy, operations, and marketing dynamics makes him an invaluable part of the Mindfield team. He also makes a great resident Vinyl Fridays DJ! When not working for us, Joe coaches baseball, loves vintage stuff, music, art and food & drink.
Director of Business Development
With more than 30 years of operations and sales management, Bill is another cog in Mindfield’s highly diversified team. Prior to Mindfield, Bill played a key role at George P. Johnson, he managed the global account teams and was responsible for the on-boarding of such clients as RIM/Blackberry, Motorola, DeutschPost/DHL, and domestic accounts like Panasonic, Cessna, Sunrise Medical, Sullivan Schien, ABN AMRO, and others. Bill was also a key part of teams acquiring GM, Lamborghini, Audi, and SAAB, to name a few. And previous to GPJ, Bill was operations lead at BlueWater Technologies when they became a Tier One supplier to GM and Ford. Bill is an avid cyclist, loves to fly fish and enjoys traveling to exotic destinations.
