Detroit Red Wings: 2012 Playoff Ice Projection

Mindfield’s been over-the-moon lucky to be able to work with the best hockey team on the planet since 2009 (meaning Mindfield’s been working with the Wings since then – they’ve been the best hockey team on the planet since pretty much forever), and the 2012 welcome to the playoffs is the next biggest step. Partnering with Dangers, projection specialists from Montreal, Mindfield engaged in creating full-ice projection media to usher in each home game of the 2012 playoffs. Care was taken to make sure that the projections on the ice were synced with the work on the Joe Louis Arena video board. All conceptualized, designed, and animated by Mindfield artists Mike Dryden and Marcus Mullins. Special thanks to Ayron for guiding the ship. NBC’s hockey analyst, Mike Milbury called it “what hockey fans must see when they go to heaven.” Go Wings!
