Jeffrey Dougherty cut his teeth as a cinematographer on low budget feature films and music videos. He developed his eye on music videos for Prince, Shawn Colvin, Madonna, The White Stripes and independent features such as Lunatics: A Love Story produced by Sam Raimi (Spiderman).
Since then his work has taken him around the world, shooting commercials for General Motors, Audi, Toyota, Volvo, Home Depot and the Michigan Humane society, to name a few. He is the winner of numerous awards, including two Cine Golden Eagle awards.
He brings his strong visual sense to documentary and long format work. Jeff directed and photographed a series of short films on “everyday heroes” sponsored by Volvo Cars of North America, which have won over a dozen international awards and were named by Ad Age magazine as a “Top Ten” best non-broadcast work of 2009. He’s currently working on a documentary about Rwanda’s amazing transformation from genocide to the most accomplished nation in Africa. Recently completed projects include a documentary series for Discovery Channel on the Future of Flight, spots for Sheraton, ibelong.org, and UPS.
